Surfing, Windsurfing and Kiteboarding in Baja Mexico

December is the start of the winter surf season in the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico, in whatever form you prefer – surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding or parasailing.

From December through March, experts and beginners alike are drawn to our sunny skies and crystal-clear waters hard to match anywhere north of the US/Mexico border. May through August marks the spring/summer surf season.

A popular spot for windsurfers and kiteboarders, just 40 minutes east of the City of La Paz, capital of the state of Baja California Sur, is La Ventana, where annual competitors from all over the world converge to show off their skills under the warm Baja sun.

Heading further south, and to the west, Los Barriles, on the East Cape, is a top destination as well. El Norte winds, beginning in November, blow at 18-30 knots, sometimes lasting for weeks, and water temperatures range from 68-75º F.
